On behalf of the staff and the parish, at large, I’d like to extend a great warm welcome to Deacon Alex, soon to be Fr. Alex! I’m very grateful to Bishop Oscar Cantu for assigning Alex to our parish and I look forward to helping in his priestly formation. Please keep both he and Alonso is your prayers as they both look forward to their priestly ordination, which is set for Saturday, May 30th, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral.
Fr. Alex will celebrate his first mass of thanksgiving on Sunday, May 31, here at the parish. Because of the uniqueness of this joyful celebration and to help accommodate space for his large family (he’s the youngest of 14 children) the mass schedule for just that Sunday will be different. The 8:30 mass will be moved to 8 a.m. and the 11 a.m. mass will be changed to 12 noon. The mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Congratulations to Deacon Lonnie Brisceno and to his wife, Lucy and to their children, on this very special and joyous celebration! Also, Fr. Miguel Briseno, is celebrating his 25th priestly ordination this weekend. Blessings to the Briseno family!
