Our parish BBQ and mass is happening next weekend, Sunday, October 4, at the Holy Cross Retreat Center. We will begin our festivities with an 11:00 a.m. mass, celebrated in the new chapel, followed by a delicious meal. Please invite friends and family members to both the mass and the lunch.
We will also have a live auction, which will include a Paella dinner that will be prepared by Fr. Alex, seminarian Frankie and me. This year we will not be having the silent auction; instead, we are offering tickets for a raffle, with cash prizes and other great gifts. I’d appreciate if you can help by either selling the tickets or buying a book. You can pick those tickets up in the office during the week. I’d like to thank all of those folks who have helped with the BBQ!
At last year’s Diocesan Eucharistic Congress Bishop Cantu asked each parish to consider the possibility of hosting a Holy Hour, intentionally praying for family life and vocation promotion. We did host a few different prayer experiences, but we’re hoping to be more consistent this year.
On Tuesday, October 6, immediately following the 5:30 p.m. mass we will be hosting a holy hour, praying specifically for life issues. Please join us in meditative prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in what we hope to be a monthly devotion, that will be help every first Tuesday of the month.
