Several weeks ago I offered what I called the “State of the Parish” address and framed the presentation with miracles, milestones and mission. Last weekend, as part of the mission piece, Sue Padilla, who with Karen Perez, co-chair the Visioning Committee, offered a pretty comprehensive look at the different possible options that we have: renovation of the existing facilities, build something new (which could take the form of a parish hall, Newman student center or a new church), or choose to do nothing at all.
I would like to echo the Visioning committee’s invitation to offer us feedback: questions, concerns, observations or insights that you might have concerning this project. We are capping a date on what we’re calling the “listening phase” in order to move onto the next step which we are calling the “answer session.” The deadline to send feedback is Wednesday, March 10. We’ve scheduled two answer sessions; one on Sunday, March 15, immediately following the 11 a.m. mass; the other on Tuesday, March 17, immediately following the evening mass.
You can send your feedback to any of the visioning committee members, the parish office or to me. You can also submit via our parish website, stalbertnewmancenter.org. Click the ‘Visioning Our Future’ button. Thanks so much for your willingness to participate in this initiative and please keep this project in your prayers.
