As some of you might know I recently had a medical procedure, which was somewhat unexpected, but I’m happy to report that, with your prayerful support and care, I’m feeling much better. I’m very grateful to Fr. Alex and the parish staff, who have helped during this time. I’m probably going to have to really watch my chocolate intake, although I understand the dark chocolate is good for the heart, as is red wine! Life is good!
Today the church celebrates the third week of Advent, which is known as Gaudete Sunday. It is a joyful time; a time of great anticipation for the coming of the Lord. Today the rose colored candle will be lit and rose colored vestments will be worn at the weekend masses. Perhaps, as a way to joyfully celebrate this week, we can consider practicing a “joyful” act of kindness each day this next week.
Thanks to the confirmation III class, Anton and Jayne – their instructors, for their help with the annual Giving Tree. Thanks to all of you took an angel cutout from the tree; please ensure that those gifts are brought back by December 13th. We certainly appreciate your generosity and willingness to bring a little bit of joy into a person’s heart! Blessings!
