Merry Christmas! Christmas Eve is the beginning of the very short Christmas season that concludes on the feast of the Baptism of Jesus. During this festive time we are invited to celebrate the birth of Jesus in our homes and hearts once again; that He may be born anew and that He might bring his light and love to our world!
As we look to the New Year, I’d like to offer a few resolutions:
- Attend daily mass once a week
- Participate in Vespers (Evening prayer, held Monday –Thursday, 5:10 p.m. in the Marian chapel)
- Volunteer for Lunch Bunch Volunteer at La Bodega (the parish food pantry)
- Volunteer as a Eucharistic minister to visit the homebound (usually once a month)
- Serve as a liturgical minister (lector; Eucharistic minister; usher / greeter; musician; storyteller)
- Spend 10 minutes in silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament
- Practice a random act of kindness once a week for the next 12 months
- Pray the rosary as a family
- Read the Bible
