    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    Hello Friends,

We concluded the year with the feast of The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. This feast reminds us that being a family is a journey of changes and challenges; that is the love of spouses, parents, children, brothers and sisters that enables us to negotiate and survive those changes, to confront and conquer those challenges. Our belonging to a family means that we reflect for one another the selfless, limitless, and unconditional love of Christ, both in good times and bad. The Holy Family is a model for our own families as we struggle together to adapt and change and to deal with the many tensions and crises that threaten the stability, peace, and unity that are the joys of being a family. We also welcome the New Year with the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God. This is also the time for the New Year's resolutions and promises. We annually commit ourselves to make some changes for our own self-betterment. We hope and pray that these changes last. I encourage you to add to your New Year's resolution list the devotion to Mary, the "Theotokos" God-bearer! It is for a reason that we begin the New Year by honoring Mary as the Mother of God and our mother. Happy New Year to all of you. Feliz Año Nuevo 2018!
