I can't believe it that this is my 5th week already here. During this time of transition for you and for me, I have been working together with the parish staff and the different councils on how to continue serving you well. Thank you for your patience. Last Sunday, some parishioners and friends accompanied me on a camping trip to Cloudcroft. It was a small group of us, but we all enjoy it very much. In particular this trip brought to mind some passages from the gospel where Jesus goes to the mountain to pray, especially this Sunday reading of the "Transfiguration of the Lord." There we hear that a voice from the cloud tells Peter, James and John to "listen" to Jesus. This is what I try to do when I am in the mountains, to listen to the soft whisper of God through the sounds of nature. Here is a picture from some of the ones who attended this camping trip.
