Dear Newman Community, It's hard to believe it's already here- the end of another semester! Please keep all students, faculty and staff in prayer as they gear up for finals week. We will be hosting a couple of different finals week activities to help relieve some stress... Monday at 8pm we'll encourage students to take a break from studying for Taize prayer (think quiet, meditative prayer) and breakfast at Newman. Thursday at 12:10pm at the NMSU Spiritual Center we will have a Holy Day Mass on Campus for the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. Thursday at 7pm we will have our Newman Christmas party featuring lots of food and the ever popular White Elephant gift exchange. Please also keep in thought and prayer all students graduating next Saturday. We are excited to join our graduates in celebrating your accomplishment with Mass and a special recognition this Sunday, December 4 at 7:30pm. Students, feel free to invite your family and friends to join us for Mass followed by a simple reception. Peace, Mona | Prayer Before An Exam Dear Lord, as I take this exam, I thank you that my value Is not based on my performance But on your great love for me. Come into my heart so that we can walk through this time together. Help me, not only with this test, But the many tests of life that are sure to come my way. As I take this exam, bring back to my mind everything I studied and be gracious with what I have overlooked. Help me to remain focused and calm, Confident in the facts and in my ability, And firm in the knowledge that no matter what happens today you are there with me. Amen. |
