Dear Newman Community, It’s hard to believe the end of another semester is nearly upon us, and with it, a time of endings. Over the course of the entire year we’ve heard seniors bemoaning their ‘lasts.’ Several weeks ago they experienced their last Awakening retreat. This week they will enjoy their last Midweek Mass & Dinner. Next Sunday night will be their last Student Mass as undergraduate students. But it’s also a time of new beginnings– fitting as we are still in the Easter season. Some are on their way to further studies as graduate students. Others are putting their newly acquired skills and knowledge into the workplace. Campus Ministry is also entering a time of endings and new beginnings. So much of what we are able to do in Campus Ministry is thanks to the volunteer time and effort generously given by our student leaders. Over the next couple of weeks we are preparing for the coming school year by inviting new students to get more involved at Newman by serving on a Ministry Team or helping lead one of these teams as a Ministry Team Servant Leader (‘SL’). Please keep us, both students and staff, in prayer, as we all discern how we are being called to grow in relationship with God and others in our community. Peace, Mona | Prayer for Servant Leaders Christ, our Teacher, you give us all good things. You invite us to service and leadership as an expression of your love for us, and you allow us the freedom of following your example of self-gift. As we seek to respond to the needs of our world in our own ways, make us more like yourself. We ask this through Christ, the Lord. Amen. -Called to Servant Leadership Retreat, ACE, Notre Dame |
