Bienvenidos! NMSU Catholic Campus Ministry provides Catholic formation and a community of hospitality to the students, faculty, and staff at New Mexico State University. Campus Ministry strives- through education, service, and worship- to form students intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually according to the wisdom of the Catholic Church, so that they may be empowered by the Spirit to enliven the Church and bear witness of Christ on the campus of New Mexico State University.
February 6 @ 2:30pm-4:30pm- Service Saturday
Join us the first Saturday of each month in giving back to our community! On February 6th we'll be visiting Casa del Sol nursing center, home to some of the most often forgotten members of our community- low income seniors. We'll meet at Newman at 2:30pm for prayer then carpool to Casa del Sol.
Thursdays Starting Feb 11- Theology of the Body Series
Meet us on campus Thursday nights at 7pm for our new Theology of the Body series. We'll be in Corbett Center Room 104, the conference room in the new Aggie Lounge. Topics include "God's Eternal Plan of Love," "For Freedom Christ Has Set Us Free: Exploring what Freedom Is," and "Sexual Morality & the Freedom to Love: The 'Why' Behind the 'What' of Catholic Teaching."
February 17 @ 12pm- Pope's Mass Event in El Paso
Pope Francis is coming to the Borderland next month so we're heading to El Paso for this "Two Nations One Faith" event at the UTEP Sun Bowl to celebrate his visit! Want to carpool with us? Meet at Newman at 12pm! Comment on this post to let us know you're meeting us.
Buy your ticket now! Tickets are available at the PanAm ticket office for $15 plus a $5 retail outlet fee. Tickets can be picked up at time of purchase. You can also call 915-747-5234 for tickets to get a $5 discount. Use the discount code "Francis." With the discount tickets are $13 plus a $4 phone order fee. Tickets ordered by phone must be picked up in person in El Paso.
March 12-18- Alternative Spring Break Service Trip
Want to give back this Spring Break? A group of students from Newman is headed to San Diego on an Alternative Spring Break service trip! The trip is March 12th-18th. There is a $150 cost to each student. More details soon on our Facebook page. If you are interested, set up an interview with Campus Ministry staff by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Interviews will be held Feb 8th through Feb 16th.
April 8-10- Aggie Awakening VIII
Gather with your #NMSUCatholic community for a weekend of prayer, reflection, recreation & Mass at Holy Cross Retreat Center.
Sundays @ 7:30pm- Student Mass
Come worship with your fellow #NMSUCatholic students. This Mass is especially offered by and for students at the Newman Center. Bonus- you don't have to wake up early for morning Mass!
Tuesdays @ 12:10pm- Mass on Campus
Take a break from the busy-ness of classes to gather for Mass with fellow students, faculty & staff at the NMSU Spiritual Center. Mass is only 30 minutes so you still have time for a quick lunch before you head back to class or work!
Wednesdays @ 5:30pm- Midweek Mass & Dinner
Feed you body, feed your soul! Mass is at 5:30pm at the Newman Center, followed by a student prepared dinner in the parish hall at about 6pm.
Thursdays @ 8pm- TNT: Thursday Night Theology
Explore and share about a different theology topic each week! Across from the church, at Casa Amistad.
Weekdays from 11:15am-1:15pm- Lunch Bunch
Lunch is served by our friendly Lunch Bunch crew for only $2 every day school is in session. At the church.
